Supervisor Thurston Unveils 2021 State of the Town Address That Outlines Town’s Accomplishments and Future Goals

On February 18, 2021,  released his 2021 State of the Town Address virtually for the Town of Wappinger. This year’s presentation outlined the accomplishments of the Supervisor, elected officials, and the Wappinger Town Government over the course of 2020 even in spite of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Key elements include passing the 2021 Budget with a 0% tax increase on town taxes, rehabilitating and renovating Town parks and facilities, expanding Town water and sewer infrastructure as well as increasing the Town’s water source supply, sustainable highway infrastructure improvements in Town, continuing his commitment to enhancing the quality of life, and more. The Supervisor also outlined the accomplishments of the Town’s three Dutchess County Legislators in advocating for Wappinger at the County level.

Supervisor Thurston also laid out his 2021 vision for continuing to move the Town of Wappinger forward, stating that he plans to implement a short-term post-pandemic economic growth plan, continuing to prioritize resident safety and security, further promoting Town history and culture of innovation and service, expanding parks and recreation opportunities,  focusing specifically on our seniors, enhancing citizen participatory engagement and, through each and every of the initiatives, prioritizing quality of life issues.
