To help ensure long term quality of water, the Town of Wappinger has long instituted a fire hydrant flushing schedule, each spring and fall in different sections of the United Wappinger Water District.

CAMO Pollution Control Inc., the Town’s water and sewer operations and maintenance contractor, will be flushing hydrants between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm beginning Tuesday, November 17, 2020 through Friday, December 4, 2020. The areas effected will be west of Spook Hill Road including the former Atlas Water District.

During the flushing, residents are advised to limit water usage, they  may experience erratic water pressure and turbid water conditions. This condition will only be temporary. AT ALL TIMES THE WATER WILL MEET SATISFACTORY SANTIARY QUALITY. The flushing will bring about long term improvements in your water quality.
