Supervisor Richard L. Thurston and the Wappinger Town Board are proud to recognize May as Mental Health Awareness Month. During the April 25th Regular Meeting of the Wappinger Town Board, Resolution 2021-71 was unanimously passed to call attention to the importance of mental health awareness. The Town of Wappinger calls upon citizens, government agencies, public and private institutions, businesses, and schools in Wappinger to recommit our community to increasing awareness and understanding of mental health, the steps our citizens can take to protect their mental health, and the need for appropriate and accessible services for all people with mental health conditions.
The Town is proud to also partner with NAMI during the month of May to place white ribbons throughout the Wappinger Town Hall campus as well as throughout the Town to further the stop the stigma campaign.
